Today I was working through the movie “The Gladiator”, thanks Netflix. I got an email from someone that said, ”How do you know so much? “
I don’t. I learned what I know because I wanted to know it. I know that sounds like common sense. But most people do not think that way. We all know the saying “teach a man to fish” But he won’t fish if you keep doing it for him or if he doesn’t want to fish. Some people will starve before they fish for themselves. It’s sad but a lot of our faculty and Staffs are like that. Do you not think our kids pick up on that?
I do not pretend to know everything; I do try to learn all I can. Take quilts for example. Will I ever quilt no, but a friend does and I enjoy talking with her about it.

My wife works in cardiology. Will I ever hold a human heart in my hand? I doubt that but because she loves it. I want to know a little about it so I can talk with her about it. What if our kids love “social media” (Facebook, twitter, YouTube, MySpace). Do we not care enough about them to at least understand what they are about?
